Tasting Sutter Home White
Made another trip to Crest recently for fun because that's how I spend my free time.
Found out they sell cute little four-packs of wine that are each about 5 oz and great for someone like me who can't get through a whole bottle in one sitting! Hazzah!
They didn't have my favorite as an option (riesling) but they had Moscato, which is still a sweet white wine so that's what I picked out. My boyfriend picked out a sweet red (he's a big cabernet guy, but if he didn't like it he hoped I'd drink it because it was sweet).

Isn't it cute?
The packs were each about $7, so not a bad price. The Moscato was from California. I stuck my pack into the freezer when we got to CJ's apartment so that they would chill.
When they were nice and chilled and I ran out of patience, I tried it. It tasted somewhat like riesling, keeping the citrusy/crisp notes, but had a bigger presence of alcohol in my opinion. It was slightly less sweet than a riesling, but had extra notes of pear and kinda tasted like melon. It was very light bodied and had a softer mouthfeel than riesling as well.
We're two people at the heigh of luxury, so we purchased some cheese and crackers for the occasion.

Kraft mozzarella and cheddar string cheese twists, along with a party pack of crackers!
I opted for the toasted sesame crackers and cut my cheese into chunks to place on top. When I tried it with the moscato, it felt almost as if I could taste the fattiness in the cheese more, if that makes sense. The cheddar was sharp, and the mozz kept its neutral flavors. Trying both cheeses together in one bite muddled their flavors a lot, especially with the added wine flavor. The moscato wasn't changed all that much, aside from the alcohol being a little more toned down. It tasted fine even though the cheese is Kraft and cheap, but cheese is cheese!
